Dr. Gina Ogilvie awarded $10 million from Federal Government for Cervical Cancer Research

Research led by SPPH’s Dr. Gina Ogilvie has been given $10 million in funding by the federal government for the continuation of research which would help achieve the goal of eventually eliminating cervical cancer. Dr. Ogilvie led a large-scale study showing how a new test that is used mainly for human papilloma virus (HPV) is better suited for cervical cancer screening compared to traditional Pap smear tests used currently.
