Financial Resources

The UBC MPH program is partnering with the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at UBC for 2017/18. This program provides funding for academically talented, yet economically marginalized students from sub-Saharan Africa to come to UBC. Please note that this is a competitive process and they set their own deadlines, separate from the MPH deadlines. More information about applying to the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program can be found here and any questions should be directed to them.

Funding may be available to some students in the form of scholarships, bursaries, and student loans. Students who are paying full time fees are eligible to apply for student loans.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies is responsible for merit-based graduate awards. Visit its website for detailed information. Graduate students who have questions about need-based funding should visit the Student Financial Assistance and Awards website. There are also some teaching and research assistantships that are available in the UBC MPH Program. SPPH also has internal awards that are given to students throughout the year.

Aboriginal students can check the Awards for Aboriginal Students page for funding opportunities specifically for First Nations, Metis, or Inuit students, as well as the Financial Planning and Awards section of the Aboriginal portal for further funding information including details about Band Sponsorship.

In addition, funding opportunities which will be particularly relevant to MPH students include:
