The Great Northern Way Campus, located just southeast of the downtown Vancouver core, is a collaboration between UBC, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, and the B.C. Institute of Technology.

Faculty, staff and students in SPPH's new renovated building at 2206 East Mall are invited to a pancake breakfast to raise funds for the UBC United Way campaign. Cost is $5, with all proceeds going to United Way. Faculty volunteers will be flipping pancakes from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. There will be a gluten-free station, fruit and drinks served. CMAJ Editor-in-Chief presents "Why your papers get rejected and what you can do about it"
Dr. Paul Hebert, the Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Medical Association Journal will be giving a talk to students, faculty, and staff from 1:15 to 2:15 on "Why your papers get rejected and what you can do about it." A question and answer session will follow his presentation.
Dr. Hebert recently gave this talk at Grand Rounds at St. Michael's hospital in Toronto. Dr. Hebert is Professor of Medicine (Critical Care), Anesthesiology, Surgery and Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa; Critical Care Physician at the Ottawa Hospital; and Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Health Research Institute. He graduated from the School of Population and Public Health's (formerly Department of Healthcare and Epidemiology) Master of Health Sciences program in 1993.
Lunch will be provided prior to the talk at 11:45.
