Last year’s Expo connected the dots, illustrating how HELP’s cell to society perspective has significantly contributed to our understanding of the importance of the early years over the last eleven years. This year’s event will focus on the future.

Our full day event promises opportunities to examine HELP research streams in more depth, exchange ideas and build skills.

Three keynotes, moderated by Dr. Clyde Hertzman, will highlight emerging child development research at HELP, including:

• The Middle Years Development Instrument in British Columbia


• Child Development Trajectories: Looking Forward to the Future


• Monitoring Child Rights in Early Childhood

Afternoon

Six, small group workshops, each focusing on a different research theme, will take place across UBC campus. Workshops will include:

• Understanding the Generational Debt Problem


• The Middle Years Development Instrument: Tools for Action


• General Comment No. 7 Indicators: A Tool for Monitoring Child Rights in Early Childhood


• How and Why do we Study Children's Developmental Trajectories?


• Early Years Community Development Certificate Program: An Introduction


• Using EDI in Population and Public Health Practice
